Collagen Cream for Men

Recently I have been having some comments over the suitability of collagen cream for men. Before you go yucks and stereotype these men as metrosexual or even effeminate, I need to profess that vanity is not a privilege of women. Men also go through the same cycles of ageing and face the same problems women go through as we age. Having said that, more men are starting to open up to the idea of using collagen cream for face and other parts of their body to combat the terrors of ageing.

Since it is not a tradition for men to adopt skincare regimes, some might be at a loss when choosing the kind of products to use. There is a whole range that you can consider and popular ones that people look out for are:
1. Cheap collagen cream
2. Collagen cream for face
3. Collagen cream for eyes
For those who feels that cheap denotes lousy, you might have to reconsider. Paying for expensive products might not necessarily lead to more effective results. The ingredients for the collagen cream might actually be the same but big brands usually have fancy packaging and elaborate marketing campaigns that buyers are partially paying for. Hence, don’t be misled into thinking that paying more would lead you to the path of youthful, radiant skin even faster. Of course, you should also be wary of dope products that are cheap but use artificial or strong chemicals that are not suitable for the skin. If you want to buy collagen cream that is effective and affordable, you should consult your friends and family for tips and recommendations.

The main components of collagen cream for men are the same as their female counterparts. Basically there are CoQ10, retinol and collagen. I’m not going to bore you with the details on these ingredients (refer to my previous article ___ for more information). Instead I’m going to review one of the products that my brother is using now.

The Nivea Men eye cream is supposed to fight any problems around the eye areas that are associated to ageing. These include wrinkles, dark eye rings and crow’s feet. While guys might think that they are still young and not susceptible to such problems, it is always good to be a step ahead. It contains SPF6 that helps guys especially since they are always out in the sun. My brother finds that this product is non greasy and can be applied onto his eye area easily. However, a word of caution is that light products are usually not suitable for chronic and serious problems so if you have severe signs of ageing, you should use a more specialised product.

Overall this product is suited for men looking for a product to start with and basic protection. At about $8 for a 5 oz jar, the price is reasonable.

Collagen Cream Reviews

With glossy pictures of celebrities looking young and radiant plastered all around, it is hard not to succumb to societal pressure to attain that youthful demeanour. Like 80% of the women in the world, using collagen cream is a must for me. On my dressing tables lie jars and jars of these little wonders ranging from collagen cream for face, collagen cream for skin, collagen cream for scars and collagen cream for eyes. I have a daily ritual involving the use of all these products and my day never ends without me slathering on heaps and heaps of them. I buy many of these collagen creams over the counter and usually refer to recommendations by friends and collagen cream reviews on beauty websites and magazines for help. With the plethora of collagen creams available, it can sometimes be very confusing for us, the consumers to decide on which is the best collagen cream to use. Because of my budget, I find that Loreal collagen cream is one of the best collagen cream in the market. Its pocket friendly price, backed by its big brand name makes it trustworthy and cost effective at the same time. I am currently using the Loreal Wrinkle De Crease Collagen Filler and find it a good investment. Within 2 weeks of application, I feel that there was a slight plumping and diffusing effect on my wrinkles. Its non greasy texture also suits me because I perspire easily and cannot afford to have thick streams of sweat rolling down my cheeks. Although it has little effect on the deeper wrinkles and smile lines, this collagen cream for face is not a bad product considering its price. I often share product reviews among my friends and family and exchange suggestions and tips on which are the most affordable collagen cream, most effective collagen cream and which places sell cheap collagen cream. More often than not, these places that sell these cheap collagen cream also have sales personnel who would recommend you the latest collagen cream on the market and which is the most suitable collagen cream to use. As much as they might have invaluable product knowledge, I always take their advice with a pinch of salt since we don’t know when they might actually be clearing old stocks! (some of you might think i'm too paranoid but better to be safe than sorry eh?? (: ) If you have any recommendations for collagen cream reviews that you’d like to share, feel free to leave a comment so we can all weed out the ineffective ones. I believe that the best way to know about a product is through personal experience so I look forward to reading your comments! (:

Best Collagen cream for face

The constant pursuit of the best and most effective collagen cream is endless. With the myriad of benefits that collagen creams boast, it is no wonder this product is hailed as the Goddess to Beauty. Collagen cream is said to be able to remove stretch marks, wrinkles, scars, crow’s feet and also adds elasticity to the skin, face and neck.

Here is a review of some of the best collagen cream available in the market.

1. Loreal Skin Expertise Collagen Moisture Filler Daily Moisturizer Day/Night Cream

This Loreal collagen cream promises nothing less than the goodness of collagen. Its primary ingredient here is natural collagen which is extracted through an innovative process which still retains the hydrating qualities of collagen.

A clinical study done by this beauty giant showed that 80% of the women tested showed improvement in their skin within a week of application. After 4 weeks, effects of collagen would start to set in as the women experienced smoother skin with finer lines. Not bad for a product that is not only easy on the pocket but also provides results.

I found the formula non greasy and lightweight; very easily absorbed for my combination skin. Although I did not notice any visible results within a week of application, I did find that after 4 weeks, my skin was more moisturized and some wrinkles at the corner of my eyes disappeared.
For budget consumers, this Loreal collagen cream might just be the one that ends your search for the most economical and affordable collagen cream.

2. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (most ex)
This classy looking collagen cream is quite a mouthful for a collagen cream targeted at anti aging. On top of containing the usual collagen extract, this product also contains Gingko Biloba and Padina Pavonica, a type of rare Mediterranean algae. Gingko Biloba is said to promote cell regeneration while Padina Pavonica has water attracting properties that helps to retain hydration, improve suppleness and elasticity.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is clinically proven to smoothen wrinkles and boost hydration levels within 15 days of application. The lifting effect it has on its users helps those who experience lost of elasticity on their skin. The light weight texture is also good for sensitive and combination skin. I like that it is has a light, floral scent to it that is easily absorbed when applied.

If you are looking to splurge on yourself, this is one collagen cream for face that you cannot miss out on.

3. Olay Definity Night Restorative Sleep Cream
This anti aging collagen cream targets discoloration, pigmentation and wrinkles on your skin. Together with glucosamine complex, it aims to battle discoloration, dullness, brown spots and wrinkles, all of which come with the times of aging.
Thanks to this unique formula, it penetrates deep within the layers of the skin to give users flawless, hydrated and luminous skin when they wake up.

The texture of this cream is slightly thicker than the rest and is more suited for dry, parched skin. Since mine was of a combination type, I passed the sample to a friend of mine who provided a review of it. She did not observe any noticeable difference to the colour of her face within 2 weeks but felt that her skin was softer and suppler. After 4 weeks, she did comment that her skin was more radiant and the colour balance was adjusted to have less obvious brown spots.

Best Collagen Cream for stretch marks

Stretch marks are a common grouse of pregnancy and post pregnant period. As the name suggests, these marks are developed as a result of the skin stretching and pulling its outer layer. This causes the skin to lose its elasticity and form off coloured ‘stripes’ on the body. Stretch marks can be found anywhere but areas that are more obvious are the thighs, arms, stomach and buttocks.

Over 75% to 90% of pregnant women develop stretch marks over their course of pregnancy and this made the search for the best collagen cream for stretch marks one of the top priorities of post pregnancy. Below are reviews on one of the best selling collagen cream used to combat stretch marks in the market.

1. Palmer’s Massage Cream for Stretch Marks: A Cocoa Butter Dream!
Palmer’s not only smells nice (sweet and creamy!) but also feels great on your skin. The cream smothers on your skin easily and absorbs quickly. Many pregnant women swear by this cream to help them with removing the unsightly stretch marks they get during pregnancy. The collagen cream is applied during the course of pregnancy and tightens the skin in the process. The cream also contains natural properties that would not pose any health dangers to the baby. The cream lightens the stretch marks within 5 applications. The cost of collagen cream is also the lowest among the bunch at less than US$10 for 4.4 oz.

2. Tummy Honey Stretch Mark Solutions Active Prevention System, Butter
This product has been on the market for more than 8 years. It does not boast any fancy new technology- but a plain, simple combination of natural ingredients that was formulated by an exasperated mom trying to get rid of her stretch marks. This award winning product contains no preservative and deeply moisturisers when applied. The cream smells light and fresh and should be applied consistently twice a day. Even though the name suggest it to be applied on the tummy, this cream can be applied anywhere on the body. One of the major grouse of using this cream is that it is greasy and thick. However, within 3 weeks of application, skin feels softer and more nourished. The stretch marks also lightened although no completely gone.

3. Mederma Stretch Marks Therapy Advanced Cream Formula
Mederma brand boasts of a combination of botanical formula as well as a patented skin hydrator that would effectively moisturise and reduce stretch marks at the same time. A recent clinical study found that 80% of its participants found an improvement in their skin texture and a discoloration in the appearance of their stretch marks after 12 weeks of using it. After using it for 4 weeks, I noticed that the area of my stretch marks became softer and a slight fading of the stretch marks. One plus point of this product is its light smell.
